Arose Art 78

This is my first Arose Art 78 blog post. The word Arose in my brand name is not past tense of arise. It is the mix of Aries and horse, I am an Aries and born in the year of horse. Hence Arose Art 78. 78 is my birth year and I also like this number.

This blog will contain things I’ve done for my brand Arose Art 78, things like the art I have created and new products that I will be selling. I hope everyone will come and walk around my website to check out the new things I put up in my store or look around my gallery page.

Tonight I uploaded some prints to my shop. They are all under $30. If you are interested please come and check out my shop for all the prints and details. Or contact me to get some details.

Today I illustrated a toucan near a lotus pond and decided that I like toucans and they are now my favorite bird to illustrate. In the near future I plan to illustrate a big illustration of multiple toucans. I hope everyone will enjoy them as much as I enjoy illustrating them.

Writing every night is too hard. So I am going to post whenever I have something to write. Three more days countdown to the e-mail of Gallery Nucleus either accepting me or rejecting me for “Power In Numbers” art show.

I pray that I will get accepted, because I need this promotion. This promotion will get me to get noticed by more people whether it’s in Taiwan or other countries. If I get rejected, I hope Gallery Nucleus will give me the reason why they rejected me. So I can improve and get accepted next time they have a international show.

If I don’t get accepted at Gallery Nucleus, I might have a chance with Wow X Wow Gallery in the UK. I am just not sure if my art is contemporary enough for Wow X Wow. Also, if I get rejected by Wow X Wow I hope they would tell me the reason they rejected me too.

I think it’s important to reject someone’s art and tell them the reason why. That reason might be a tip for the artists to improve their art. If I have my own gallery and I rejected an artist I would do my best to tell them why I rejected them.

I used to call myself LindaToonArt, because I wanted to create cartoon fine art and I still want to do that. Except now I call myself Arose Art 78 just to change things up a bit. I want to create cartoon fine art, because my art is simple and whimsical like cartoons. So I want to boost my art to fine art level and see if people will get attracted enough to buy my art. I have seen cartoon fine art on Google and they are all fan art of old Disney characters on the fine art level. I want to change that and create my own characters to express my own cartoon fine art.

I want to arise above every other artists and stand on top of the world. I want the world to see me and my art. Maybe the world already saw my art, but without people reacting to my art posts I would not know if anyone saw my art. My friends see my art and react, but they are my friends and they respect me.

I want strangers to see my art and buy them. Of course if they have money to spare. If the world doesn’t have money to buy my art, at least let the world follow me on social media.

Can’t wait till tomorrow for the result of Gallery Nucleus’ judging for “Power In Number” art show. I hope I can get in, if I get in I might be able to go to LA to the opening reception. Take photos with my post cards. Oh yeah, “Power In Numbers” exhibits art on post cards.

Also, can’t wait for next Monday, because super awesome artist Ten Hundred’s class will start on that day. Can’t wait to take his class and boost my art skill. Ten Hundred is a mural painter and painter and art Youtuber. When I watched his YouTube channel, I immediately fell in love with his art.

Ten Hundred’s art is whimsical and vibrant like mine, except he’s more detailed. Detailed as in highlights and shadows. He really knows how to put his highlights and shadows and make his characters look cool.

Today as I scroll through Instagram, I saw a post posted by Gallery Nucleus saying that they are calling for submissions both domestically and internationally. So I immediately decided to participate in the event. The event is called Power In Numbers and it will be held in September. The deadline is on August 9th so I have 9 days to illustrate and the art should be on 5x7 post cards. I should have at least 3 post cards by 8/9/22.

I am participating in the show, because if my art got selected they will be exhibiting at a famous venue in LA. Artists, animators, teenagers and art lovers all go to Gallery Nucleus to buy art or T-shirts by awesome artists. Who knows some big time Hollywood star might go and see my art too. Even if my art didn’t sell during the show, at least I can tell people that I exhibited at Gallery Nucleus in 2022. That would boost my popularity with people and hopefully because of that they will commission me or buy my art.

Exhibiting at Gallery Nucleus is like having Gallery Nucleus as an experience on my artistic resume. Too bad I can’t go to the show or I would take photos with friends at the show and show off to people in Taiwan and tell them that Gallery Nucleus is a big and popular gallery in Hollywood. That probably would get them to notice me more.

I wonder if I should create some business cards. I am not sure if I will be selected for “Power In Numbers” art show. Maybe I can wait till Aug. 11th to decide, because that might be the time Gallery Nucleus will contact me. Let say I get selected and Gallery Nucleus invites me to be present at the show. I would be meeting people so it would be better for me to have some business cards.

Also, night before the art show is my high school reunion. So I need some business cards to give to my old classmates. Just to let them know what I’ve been doing since graduation. Now if I do go to LA to go to both events, do I want to give out post cards just to be outstanding from the other artists or do I want to create traditional business cards?

I can fit more things on a post card, but it would be bulky to carry and a traditional business card is less bulky, but less space to put stuff. I guess I’ll have to wait till Aug. 11th to decide. Also, if I create post cards I can put a illustration on the front and put my contact information on the back.

Maybe I can create some post cards right now and be prepared for Lightbox Expo next year if Covid dies down by next October. I miss going to networking events and I hope I get to go to one soon. I tried to meet new people on social media, but I keep meeting scammers or widowers that wants me to take care of their children. So it’s better to meet people in person and then exchange social media profiles.

I just finished illustrating 3 post cards for “Power In Numbers” exhibition at Gallery Nucleus in September. I also just e-mailed the three post cards to Gallery Nucleus. I hope they accept my submissions, but they might not and that is ok, because I might have other opportunities to join next year or a different time.

I illustrated 3 toucans, because I like them and I am good at illustrating them. I feel that my art has improved to another level since last week. So I am confident that Gallery Nucleus will accept my submissions. If not that is ok too, because then I know I have more to improve.

I will post the toucans after either accepted or rejected by Gallery Nucleus. Whether or not I get accepted, it’s a good experience to try to illustrate for a famous show like Power In Numbers. If I get rejected this year, I do hope that Gallery Nucleus host the exhibit again next year or the future years.

Today a girl on Instagram asked me if I do NFT art and i said no. She said she would buy my art if I made it into NFT. As she said this, I was thinking about what Ten Hundred said about NFT being unfriendly to the environment. I didn’t tell the girl, but I did double check on Google to see if Ten Hundred is accurate. He is, a transaction takes up 87 mega watts of energy. There were more information about how NFT are bad for the environment and there were too many technical terms so I didn’t understand everything in the article.

I don’t know if the girl would argue with me about how much money I would be making if I create NFT art. I guess I will find out if I tell her the information I found on Google. I am not friends with her so I am not going to tell her, plus I didn’t understand everything in the article so it would be hard for me to tell her what I read.

I want to make money and I also don’t want to destroy earth. So I am going to make money the traditional way, making physical art and either sell them online through my website or physically at a venue or a art market. I think I am already destroying earth by using colored pencils and paper, they were both made out of wood. Not sure how long it would take before I chop down all the trees in this world just so I can draw.

I had writer’s block yesterday so I am continuing my posts today. I started illustrating my new illustration “Toucan Buddies” yesterday and finished today. I think it’s my best bird illustration ever, because I was able to clearly portray the birds and made them look cool.

I should have added some trees or plants in the background, but there was no room. Even if there were no elements in the background it still looked cool.

It would have been a good submission to “Power In Numbers” show, but it would be hard to fit all five toucans in a post card. That’s why I illustrated on a 16K paper more room to fit all five birds. Maybe I can exhibit “Toucan Buddies” at a different art show in the near future.

Had an idea of opening up my own art studio that is a classroom, gallery and studio, but first I need money. I need money to rent a studio space as well as buying studio furniture for students and myself. So I need to find a art teaching job first.

Then when I have enough money I can rent a studio space. Went online tonight to find some art classrooms to see if they need a teacher like me. Got rejected by one studio, but that’s ok, because I am asking several places. Maybe one of them will take me. It might be hard for me to find a art teaching job in Taipei since I don’t have any art teaching experience in Taipei.

Maybe another route I can go is record Youtube videos and share my art on my channel. Hopefully one of the classrooms will see my channel and hire me.

Last night I reached out to about 7 art teaching studios in Taipei. One of them rejected me after reviewing my portfolio. The second studio asked me for my resume after reviewing my portfolio and the person that chatted with me is giving my portfolio and resume to the person in charge of probably human resources or portfolio review.

I am not sure if the person that chatted with me like the information I gave him or not, but if he’s sending my info to another person in the studio, it probably means that I have a chance of getting an interview. Depending on if the second person like my portfolio and resume or not.

It was hard for me to give the studio my resume, because it was hard for me to remember the dates that I worked at my former jobs. I don’t know why I couldn’t remember those dates, maybe it’s a after effect of Covid or maybe my brain is deteriorating I don’t know. I took fish oil and it didn’t help.
